A few websites to check out

Posted by meghanbreeze on July 31, 2008

With Jacob working 2nd shift and Torah going to bed at 8, I have some free time at night and I am usually on the computer. I will admit I am a little obsessed with trying to find unique clothes and toys. Most of the things I’ve found are handmade and one of a kind. It is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine :) I’ve listed a few websites below to check out, Enjoy!!

Our Weekend

Posted by meghanbreeze on July 29, 2008

Torah had a fun filled weekend. She went to a park with Grandma and Grandpa Stone on Saturday morning and had lots of fun. I don’t have any pictures of that event, b/c Jacob and I were able to hang back at the house and relax for an hour during that event. Torah was able to show off for Grandma and Grandpa, they had not yet seen her crawl or cruise around the furniture. They couldn’t believe it :) That afternoon Torah and I went with Mamaw to Bloomington to get ideas for her 1st birthday party! We had lots of fun and have lots of ideas :) We went to the Gingerbread House first, which we found lots of good stuff. But, let me warn those of you who visit, DO NOT bring your child! The store/house is crammed with items and there is absolutely no room to move. Just a warning, great store, just not a lot of walking room. Then we were off to Hobby Lobby, after that we decided to get a little snack. So, we walked on over to Starbucks and relaxed for awhile. We had to make a little pit stop at the fountain. Anytime she sees water, she has to touch it or at least try to.

Torah enjoyed her water and a little lemon loaf. After Torah began making a mess, we decided to head over the GAP, surprise, surprise :) And can you believe I found this cute little outfit for $6.00! Great buy!!

We were headed home and decided last minute to stop by Jackson’s Produce. By this time Torah was out of it. So much so that I picked her up, put her in the stroller, walked around the market, put her back in the car seat and she never woke up! This never happens. Needless to say she was just a little exhausted from all the excitement on Saturday afternoon. When we got back to Mamaw and Grandpa’s house, grandpa had made dinner (which is always a good thing!). Torah had her first bite of catfish and liked it very much. After dinner, Mamaw got out one of Torah’s birthday presents. She decided to give it to her early, since she is becoming more mobile. This was from the first time she was walking with it. The other two are from Sunday. She is so funny with it, she looks like a little old lady with a walker!

Her little bottoms had ruffles on them. Don’t you just love her ruffly little butt :)

On Sunday morning, Torah spent most of the morning exploring Mamaw and Grandpa’s living room. She especially liked the books (making daddy proud!).

For lunch we headed over to Grandma Foster’s house. Lunch was delicious as usual, especially her mac n’ cheese. Torah had some of grandma’s mac n’ cheese and loved it just like mommy does. I’m telling you it is like none other, just ask Jacob. She played with her cousin Jade and had a good time. By the time we got back to Mamaw and Grandpa’s house she was pooped. She took a nap and then grandpa took her for a lawn mower ride, which I think they both love to do :) Torah was a very busy bee this weekend and had a very good time spending time with family. Sorry for the long post!

11 months

Posted by meghanbreeze on July 24, 2008

I’m not for sure if I have mentioned that I am no longer working or not. My memory these days are not the best! About 2 weeks ago I officially became a stay at home mom…again :) I am so happy to be home and spending the days with Torah and Jacob. Jacob started his 2nd shift today, he has been working day shift for the past 9 weeks. So, we are adjusting to the new schedule now. Which, I think is going to work out pretty well. Only crappy thing is, his days off are Tuesdays and Sundays :( But, I guess it could be worse. Were excited to have the days together and do fun things, especially with this great weather! These are just a few pictures of today. We played outside, went for 2 walks, and crawled EVERYWHERE!

Torah loves to stand at the door or the windows. Grandpa Jerry was mowing and she just kept waving at him :) Torah is an quite the explorer, now that she can get around. She is into everything and she is quick. She’s taken a few spills here and there, but they don’t seem to bother her one bit. BTW, thanks Mamaw for the outfit. It looks really cute on her!

Water Park

Posted by meghanbreeze on July 24, 2008

On Tuesday afternoon we decided to head over to the YMCA park, we had heard it was a good park, so we figured we would find out for ourselves. And, we can say that it is a great park, at least for Clinton.  It has a little water park as well, which Torah LOVED! So much so that we went back later that day with Mamaw when she came to visit. Here are some pictures from the day.

Torah and Jacob were soaked by the time we left. The camera ran out of memory, but by the end Torah was just in her diaper!

At one point she decided to sit down by the sprinkler and wait for it to come back up. As soon as the water came out, she went crawling to another sprinkler, mind you this is on concrete! She LOVED it, but her poor little knees have a few bruises from the day :)

When we went back, we were a little smarter and put her in a swimsuit. She played in the water for another 20 minutes and then we went to the swings. She was loving the swings too!

Hope everyone has been enjoying the beautiful weather :)

We are officially mobile!

Posted by meghanbreeze on July 18, 2008

I really didn’t think Torah was ever going to crawl, but as of last week she is. And life has completely changed in the Breeze household. I don’t think I really sit down at all during the day now! All of sudden one day I walked in to the kitchen and looked back and Torah was following me and just laughing. It was great :) So, now we spend our days chasing one another around the house. She is pulling up to everything now and cruising around the furniture and the coffee table. So, I don’t think it will be long before she is walking. I still can’t believe in a little over a month she will be one! It’s just crazy to think about.
Torah also started signing please like crazy. It’s so cute. I’ll have to get some video of her crawling and signing. We were at Target yesterday looking at some clothes and she started signing please :) This may be the start of something very interesting!
One other thing that has happened this week, more on the parent side of things. I may have been rocking Torah to sleep up until this week. I know, I know it probably wasn’t the best thing, but I wouldn’t change it at all. I loved that time at night. I thought it would be easier now, rather than later to have her put herself to sleep. So, Monday night we began the challenge. I’m pretty sure I started praying at 6 PM that the process would go smoothly. Jacob and I decided we would wait for 30 minutes and see what happened. She cried for 30 minutes, I went in to check on her and decided to play her little music thing we have. 15 min. later she was asleep. We didn’t think that was too bad for the first night. Second night, 15 min. and third and fourth night 10 min. So, I think we are doing pretty well. The next obstacle is getting rid of the pacifier! My goal is by her 1st birthday, so we’ll see. I’m thinking that it should be somewhat easy, just because it was a piece of cake to get ride of the bottle and the sleeping thing hasn’t been too hard. So, we’ll see, I may eat my words on this one! Well, I’m off to get some things done while Torah is napping, the naps haven’t been lasting too long these days. Hope everyone has a great weekend :)

The mind of a child

Posted by meghanbreeze on July 12, 2008

I just love this next picture, it makes me laugh so hard for some reason. If you know Grayce she is very miss independent and I think this picture tells that. She loves her cowgirl boots and wears them with EVERYTHING! This was at her brother Bryce’s baseball game. I just love the mind of a child.

Bike Ride

Posted by meghanbreeze on July 12, 2008

Mamaw took Torah on her first bike ride last week. It was only up and down the street b/c Torah refused to wear the bike helmet. She did love it though!

This is what happened when the helmet went on. And being the great parent I am, I took a picture :)

Time with Grandpa

Posted by meghanbreeze on July 12, 2008

The other day when Torah and I went to lunch grandpa was mowing the lawn and Torah decided she would like to help. This was her first time riding on the lawn mower, and don’t worry the blade was off! She had lots of fun riding around the yard with grandpa. She just kept pointing at everything!

Can you tell she LOVES to point???

Mamaw got her Fredbird @ the Cardinals game last week. Torah isn’t quite sure what to think of Fredbird yet.
