ER Visit = No Fun :(

Posted by meghanbreeze on February 26, 2008

So, we spend the majority of Saturday evening in the emergency room w/ Torah. She had a runny nose and a little cough since Friday, but I just kept her nose cleaned out and ran the humidifier for her. Well, by Saturday night it turned into wheezing and she couldn’t sleep. We called the on-call doctor, which happened to be our doctor, he said we should take her in to the ER to have a breathing treatment. So, we left the house around midnight and I believe we got home around 3 am, at that point I lost track of most everything. Torah did so well at the ER despite the circumstances. They said she had croup, so they gave her some tylenol, breathing treatment and I believe a steroid shot. And for some crazy reason when they gave her the shot, she didn’t even bat an eye or anything! I think she was so exhausted from everything. She finally fell asleep somewhere around 2 am, poor little girl was just exhausted. She is doing better now, but her little cough is so sad to hear. I will say she has been in great spirits though, still smiling and laughing all the time. Besides the croup, she also got her second tooth this past weekend as well! I’m telling you, new things are happening everyday! She loves playing with Malachi and Amos. She just laughs at them like crazy and she loves to blow raspberries at Malachi! We also had her 6 month pictures taken last Thursday and I can’t wait to go back in a few weeks to view them. Her 3 month pictures turned out SO great, I can’t wait to see the 6 month ones. She did great with her little photo shoot. She is sitting up so well and really loves to sit up and play now. She is just growing so much and doing something different all the time! Torah also had her 6 month checkup, yes that’s right 6 months already! Let me just say that Torah had a major growth spurt! She now weighs 18 lbs 2 oz and is 27 in. long! HELLO!!!! I guess the cereal and baby food helped her pack on some pounds! Speaking of baby food, she is really enjoying the vegetables so far. She has had peas, carrots, butternut squash and lima beans. Not a big fan of the lima beans, but who can blame her! I am really enjoying making her baby food and can’t wait for her to try more vegetables and soon fruits. We are leaving Wednesday to head over to Indianapolis for a few days. Jacob and I just wanted to take a little vacation with Torah. Then we are heading down to Louisville on Friday to see the Reagan family. We are so excited to just get away for awhile. We’ve been pretty stressed out and crazy busy lately, so we just want some time to hang out as a family. I’ll be sure to get some pictures and post them when we get back. Here are some recent picturesuglydoll.jpg  daddy-sweater.jpg  sippy-cup.jpg

Its been awhile

Posted by meghanbreeze on February 15, 2008

So, I do apologize for not being up to date on the blog lately. Things just seem to get busier and busier. I started cleaning for a family in Bloomington twice a week a few weeks ago, so we’ve been adjusting to that schedule. It works out great for us right now, Jacob doesn’t work until 3pm so he is able to hang out w/ Torah on Tuesdays and Thursdays while I clean. I’m very excited that they get 2 days a week, when it is just their time to hang out, he really enjoys that time w/ her :) This past weekend was a whirlwind! Our great friends the Hornbrooks were in town Sat-Tues. to say goodbye before they move to Chula Vista, California. They are doing a church plant, I think I had mentioned that before. It was a great weekend, but also a sad one. I’m not for sure when we’ll see them again. We were spoiled when they lived in Indy. We are very excited though for their next journey. I would love it and I know the Hornbrooks would as well, if you would keep them and the church plant in your prayers. They are leaving Sunday, February 24th to make the move out to California. Please pray for safe travel and good driving weather for them while they drive for 3 or 4 days! We love Chris and Lyndsey so much and are going to miss them like crazy :) Here is a little something Chris wrote for a facebook group, it’ll give you some info:Chris & Lyndsey are building a prayer team to pray for them and Momentum Christian Church (the new church that they will be leading in San Diego). Chris & Lynz will be sending out regular prayer lists over email that you can print off and put on your fridge, mirror, locker, or anywhere that you’ll see everyday and remember to pray for them and the people of Chula Vista (South San Diego County). As a member of the prayer team, you are committing to pray everyday from today through October 12 (which is the day that the church launches). Torah was loving hanging out w/ Lyndsey so much this past weekend. We got lots of pictures, all of which I’m pretty sure are on Lyndsey’s camera. I did get a few though.aunt-lyndsey.jpghornbrooks-visit.jpg This is Torah on the way home Sunday night. She was spent from the day. She is holding her little moose, which she loves!mortimore.jpg New things Torah is doing recently 1. Eating oatmeal cereal. Starting baby food this week, I’ve already made up a few trays of food. I’m really enjoying making her baby food thus far :) 2. Teething like crazy! Her bottom left tooth has broken through and is causing her major discomfort. 3. Knows the sign for bottle. She gets really excited when I sign her bottle, it’s so funny. I’m going to start adding in more signs this week. 4. Likes to stand up while holding onto the couch. 5. Loves to pet Malachi and Amos 6. Will be 6 months next week!!!!!!I’m getting a little sleepy, so I’ll fill you all in on more in the next few days. Torah is going to spend the night w/ Mamaw and Grandpa Foster tomorrow, so Jacob and I can go out. We are real excited about having a date night and I know Torah is looking forward to hanging out w/ Mamaw and Grandpa :)  This picture is from awhile ago, while Torah was hanging out at Mamaw and Grandpa’s house.watching-tv.jpg
