Quick Pictures

Posted by meghanbreeze on October 29, 2007

We’re getting ready to head to Babies R Us in Springfield, but I wanted to post some pictures from the weekend. I’ll write later on tonight possibly.

Enjoy!

She really enjoys her mobile. She laughs all the time at the little animals. Check out the website www.tinylove.com

Torah in her babylegs. I love these things, she has 3 pairs and they are great and lots of fun. Good for under skirts or dresses instead of tights, makes diaper changing much easier. Check out the website www.babylegs.net and they also sell them at www.target.com

Learning New Things

Posted by meghanbreeze on October 26, 2007

Today my mom came over to watch Torah for me b/c I was a little under the weather. I’m not for sure if I had a bug, and if so I didn’t want Torah getting it. So, Mamaw hung out w/ Torah today at our house and had lots of fun. In the past few weeks, Torah has found her tongue and her hands/fingers, well today she figured out that her fingers can go in her mouth. Not only that, she now has started chewing on her thumb. We were sitting with her today and we looked over and she had her thumb in her mouth. She would rather chew on her thumb than her pacifier now. Which I’m not a huge fan of her chewing on her thumb b/c I really don’t want her to suck her thumb. But, I guess we’ll see what happens. After seeing Torah chewing on her thumb and my mom said she did feel some bumps on the top of Torah’s gums. I’m thinking she may be getting some teeth here soon. Hard to believe! Torah also got a bebe pod, pretty much the same thing as a bumbo seat as a gift at the shower. We’ve been practicing sitting in it for the past few days. She likes to sit in it and does a pretty good job. She holds her head up really well, so I figured if we practiced everyday sitting in it, it would help her neck muscles and teach her how to sit up at the same time. Don’t worry, I am next to her at all times w/ my hand behind her head. Quick note, I saw the bumbo seats were recalled on msn.com, so if anyone has one you may want to check out msn.com

She looks like she has shoulder pads in her sleeper, just a little big in the arms! She’s getting ready to stick her thumb in her mouth in this one.

I love this hat one her, were going to get her picture taken in it for her 3 month photos. Check out www.jamieraehats.com for a ton of different styles.

2 months old already!

Posted by meghanbreeze on October 23, 2007

I can’t believe that 2 months have already went by! Torah is growing so fast, which I’m not sure I like. Luckily, I have had the pleasure of spending everyday so far with her. I haven’t went back to work yet. Crazy stuff went down w/ my former employer before I had Torah. I was supposed to have my old job back, but with a different company after my maternity leave. Well, that so much didn’t happen, which I just found out this past week. Not so good news, but not horrible. I’m in the process of looking for something that is part time, that way Jacob can watch her in the morning. He goes into work at 2:45 Tues-Sat, so I could work in the morning and we wouldn’t have to pay for a sitter. B/c it really wouldn’t pay to work if we had to pay a babysitter. So, right now I’m looking for something part time and that is local. Hopefully, something will turn up sometime soon. I hate the idea of not being w/ Torah, but I feel so much better that she’ll be with Jacob instead of someone I don’t know. Plus, it will be good for them to spend that time together since he is gone during the evening.

Enough of that crazy stuff, onto more fun things. Torah is making me laugh everyday more and more. She finally slept through the night on Sunday, which was amazing. I woke up at 7:30 and freaked out a little. I just started counting in my head the hours and realized she hadn’t woken up throughout the night. I’m just so used to getting up in the middle of the night, it freaked me out at first. I’m attempting to put her on a schedule since she is becoming more and more consistent with eating and sleeping. She has been sleeping a lot throughout the day though. I try and have her on her stomach most of the day, but when she is on her tummy she loves to sleep. So, I’m kind of confused. I read that she should spend most of the day on her tummy, but then she ends up sleeping most the day. She has also found her tongue and her hands/fingers. She has been sucking on her hand and trying to get her thumb in her mouth. She has also been trying to chew on her pacifier. Also a little more fussy, which she normally isn’t. So, my mom thinks that she may be teething already! I’m not for sure, I felt her gums today, but I have no idea what to feel for. So, mom is going to have to check. I did have 2 teeth at 2 months, so I guess it is possible. I’ll keep you posted on that.

Torah had her first wiener roast on Sunday night at Mamaw and Grandpa’s house. She slept the entire time, but I’m pretty sure she had a good time.

Some news not concerning Torah, but is exciting. My cousin Elise got engaged last weekend. So, congratulations to her and Eric and Cayden :) They are planning a September wedding next year. 2 weddings next year, one in May and one in September. And funny thing is they are sisters!

This is Torah at the wiener roast. Looks like she is enjoying herself!

Jacob was playing Sting for Torah. We like to think she will play guitar or the piano. If so, all those traits she will get from Jacob b/c I am not musically talented at all :)

This was taken today after her bath. She stuck her little butt up in the air while she was sleeping!

Stats

Posted by meghanbreeze on October 18, 2007

So, the appointment wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. There were tears in my eyes as I held Torah’s little hands while the nurses gave her 4 shots. But Torah did great, I must say.  Although, one of the shots she started bleeding and that really got to me, but I think I did pretty good. It went pretty quick b/c they had two nursed, giving her two shots each, both at the same time. So, that helped out a ton. And Ash, if you are reading this and haven’t taken Arrington yet, you can giver her a little Tylenol before hand if you want. Just give her .4 of the dropper. There was some slight crying when she got the shots, but after I picked her up and gave her the pacifier she was fine. She is a tough gal. She has been sleeping ever since we got home, at least after she took some Tylenol and her bottle. Here are the long awaited stats on Torah’s weight, height and head diameter.

Jacob’s guess : 10.3 lbs, 23 in.

Meghan’s guess: 10.5 lbs, 23 in.

Torah’s stats: 12.8 lbs (90 percentile), 23 in. (70 percentile) 41cm diameter (90 percentile)

So, we were totally off (we’ll blame it on the whole new parent thing!) Torah has definitely grown a ton. Her last stats were: 9.9 lbs, 21.5 in. and 31 cm. diameter and that was 6 weeks ago. HELLO, she has grown soooo much. I just couldn’t believe it, both of our jaws dropped when we saw the scale. She is healthy and doing great and right on target with everything. No more appointments until December for her 4 month check up. Here are some pics from today.

Baby shower, Tea Room and more!

Posted by meghanbreeze on October 17, 2007

The following pictures are from the baby shower, first overnight stay with Mamaw and Grandpa Foster, Torah’s first visit to LaTeaDa Tearoom and some random pics.

The baby shower was great. We got lots of great things that are now over taking Torah’s room. I’m just trying to figure out where to put everything. I never knew how messy a baby room could get and I never knew how much stuff you need! Torah got lots of clothes for when she is older. I kept looking at the clothes thinking she’ll never get that big! Yeah right, she is growing everyday. I just can’t believe she’ll be 2 months in a week! Time has flown by and I hate it. Speaking of not really liking things, tomorrow is Torah’s 2 month check up. Which means shots :( I’m not looking forward to this appointment at all. I’ll give an update when we get back, plus I’ll have all of her stats. Jacob and I are going to put our bets in on how long she is and how much she weighs. I’ll be sure to post our thoughts and then the real thing. Well I’m not for sure how long she’ll be asleep for, so I’ll just post the pictures. Some are pretty funny I must say :)

After the shower, Jacob came and loaded everything up for us

Going to meet my friend Kacy from work at LaTeaDa Tearoom. She was really good while we were there, hopefully she likes it b/c I love the place!

She was talking and making noises at her new mobile Mamaw got her.

She must have been worn out from the baby shower!

Staring at her mobile, she is for sure thinking something. I just wonder what exactly.

Busy Weekend

Posted by meghanbreeze on October 14, 2007

This weekend has been a pretty busy one for the breeze family. Friday I went to a wedding in Indy, Jacob had to work as well as Candice and Joni’s husbands. So, we made it a girls weekend. Which, I will say was a blast. Torah stayed with Mamaw and Grandpa on Friday night. Being without her for one night was such a weird feeling. I missed her so much. When I would call mom to check on her, I could hear her in the background making all sorts of noised, and it just made me want to cry! I did have a great night though, the wedding was great, I got to see the Hornbrooks and the Reagans, and I got a full nights sleep :) I was so ready to be home though. When Joni and I were driving to Champaign to pick up Candice, I just kept looking in the backseat thinking Torah was there. I did however pick Torah up some cute clothes at H&M in Indy, so that was fun. Joni, Candice and I did a little shopping in Circle Centre mall Saturday morning. I do love shopping w/ those girls!
Last night was a little crazy night. I think I only slept around 4 hours, Torah was just up a lot of the night. I don’t know if it was from being somewhere else the night before or what. I was so exhausted this morning, but sitting here looking at her sleeping on her little tummy makes staying up all night totally worth it. I just can’t imagine life without her and Jacob. It was cute to hear Jacob say how much he missed Torah on Friday night and Saturday morning. He said he was so bored w/out both of us there. He kept calling me and telling me how much he missed her. It did melt my heart to hear that. It’s just so crazy how much your life changes when you have a little one of your own. I was thinking after being at a wedding on Friday, how you develop all new emotions at different stages of your life. When you meet that person that you are going to spend the rest of your life w/ you feel all kinds of new emotions that you never had before. And then after you have a baby, you feel even different and new emotions that you didn’t have before and maybe even emotions you didn’t think of. Jacob and I are just so blessed to have Torah in our lives and everyday pray that we do our best to be the kind of parents that Torah needs. You always here people say that they want to be the best parent to their kids, we want that as well, but even more so want to be the parents that Torah needs, b/c every child is different. I almost feel like when we have more kids (like 3 years down the road) we will be a different parent to each child, b/c each child has different needs. I don’t know if that makes any sense or not. It could be those 4 hours of sleep last night.
I’ll be posting some more later tonight, Torah and I need to get ready for our baby shower this afternoon. Which we are way excited for! Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Visiting Arrington Mauhar

Posted by meghanbreeze on October 12, 2007

Torah and I headed over to Lincoln yesterday to see Ashleigh and Arrington. We had a great time visiting and eating (somehow Ashleigh found time to make brunch, how I don’t know, b/c I couldn’t have done that!) By the way, Ash thanks for brunch and letting us hang out for so long! Arrington and Torah are only 2 days apart, which is just great. It’s so nice to have someone to chat w/ who is experiencing the same things. Arrington is just adorable and seems so much smaller than Torah. We took some pictures of the two of them together. At first Arrington was interested in something else other than the camera, but then she began posing for us. I also posted a few other pictures I took yesterday. I’m off to Indy today for a wedding and am leaving Torah for the first time overnight with my parents (sniff, sniff). So, we’ll see how that goes. I’m sure I’ll have pictures that Mamaw took during Friday and Saturday. Well, I’m off to give Torah a bath before we leave for Mamaw and Grandpa’s house. Have a great weekend!

Smiling :)

Posted by meghanbreeze on October 11, 2007

Torah was all smiles today and it just made my day. She has been smiling for the past few weeks, but today was so great. She was just laughing, talking and smiling all day. How lucky am I that I get to hang out w/ her all day, I’m just so blessed !

Some Recent Pictures

Posted by meghanbreeze on October 8, 2007

The first set of pictures go in sequence. I didn’t even what Torah did until I was loading the pictures. It is quite funny, I must say.

Also, this past week Torah rolled over all on her own! She doesn’t roll over all the time, but has several times. She loves to spend time on her tummy.

Not a lot of time to write, so I’ll just post the pictures now.

torah-1.jpg

So, she started of pretty content w/ me taking some pictures

Then, she seems not too happy

Then, she flips me off! And notice the face. Maybe it’s the shirt??

Another one on her tummy. She likes her babystar blanket! www.babystar.com

torah-7.jpg

I couldn’t get all of her in the frame, but she is wearing a halo sleepsack. I love these things. They make changing her diaper easy in the middle of night, but most importantly they help reduce the risk of SIDS. Here is the website www.halosleep.com . They sell them at Babies R Us and JCPenney I know for sure.

What do you think?

Posted by meghanbreeze on October 1, 2007

My mom managed to find one of first baby pictures and sent me a copy. What do you think, does Torah have any of my characteristics? Everyone we see automatically says she looks just like Jacob, but I think that I do see some of me in her once I see my baby picture. I will say though, she looks more like Jacob especially in the picture below. These days she is looking a little more like me, but we’ ll see.

She has been talking a lot more lately. At least I like to say talking. She really is just making all kinds of noises. And it is the cutest thing ever. One of these days I’ll learn how to post a video and put one of her talking. Let me know what you think about the pictures.
