Life is great!

Posted by meghanbreeze on September 27, 2007

As I am sitting here writing I have this wonderful little baby girl sitting in front of me in her papasan chair sleeping, how great is that! We just got back from our walk not too long ago. It is so beautiful outside, I couldn’t wait to get out and walk. Torah enjoys the walks, of course who wouldn’t if you just got to lay there and do nothing!
Things are going great for the Breeze family. Jacob began a new job this week in Decatur, so I am adapting to being at home all day long with Torah. Which is just a wonderful gift, if I may say. I go to the doctor next week and will be able to return to work after that. I am still in the process of speaking with a new employer about beginning work only at part time. At least for awhile, I just can’t imagine going back full time and not seeing Torah all day long. Jacob is working 2nd shift, so we won’t have to get a babysitter at least not until the end of the year. So, that is great news. Lots of savings their, which will go towards diapers and formula :)
Torah is changing so much! I just can’t believe it. She is holding her head up very well on her own. We’re very proud of that. I’ll have to try to get some pictures of that. She has just been a wonderful baby. She hasn’t really been too fussy at all. Whenever we take her anywhere she is just great. Hopefully that will last, I may have not been the greatest kid when my mom took me anywhere, especially the grocery store. Hopefully, I don’t get payback for that!
This Saturday my parents are taking Jacob and I out for our anniversary. It was last week, but they were busy then. Can’t complain b/c were going to Silvercreek in Champaign! Torah’s Aunt Candice, Uncle Robbie, Aunt Joni and Uncle Gus :) are babysitting her on Saturday while we go out. Then were spending the night w/ them and going to Curtis Orchard on Sunday. So, we’ve got somewhat of a big weekend. We have yet to stay over night anywhere w/ her yet. I’ll have to give updates aftewards.
As for me transitioning into being a mom, I couldn’t be happier. I absolutely love it. I can’t believe I am so lucky to have a beautiful baby to hang out with all day and take care of. Last week was a little exhausting b/c she was wanting a bottle every 3 hours, so I was getting less sleep. But I changed her ounces in formula and she’s been going 4 -5 hours inbetween feedings, which is awesome! There are days when I can just stare at her for hours. I always wonder what she is thinking throughout the day. By the all the different facial expressions, I’m thinking she is thinking quite a bit. I’ve been reading books with her in the afternoon as well as having tummy time each day. I just feel so lucky that I have been able to stay home w/ her this long. I can’t really even put it into words how happy I am, may the word for it joyful, blessed, so many words could be used.
Also, some great news that I can finally share. Our great friends Austin and Joni (aka Uncle Gus and Aunt Joni) are expecting their own little one in March!!!!! We are so excited that Torah is going to have a friend in 6 months. So, CONGRATULATIONS to the Parkers :)
Here are a few more pics.

1 month old!

Posted by meghanbreeze on September 21, 2007

I do apologize I haven’t updated the blog in awhile. Finding time these days is just a little bit harder than before. Torah is doing wonderful and changing everyday. Today she is one month old! I can’t believe it, time has flown by so fast.

She had her first real bath two weeks ago and loved it. Bath time is one of my favorite times with her, I will say.
She’s been eating every 3 hours this past week instead of every 4 hours like before. So, I am thinking she may be hitting a growth spurt. Which is hard to believe since last time we were at the dr. she weighed 9.9oz. I can’t imagine what she’ll weigh at her next check up, which is just in a few weeks.
This past Sunday we went to Tanner’s Orchard with the girls in the family. It something that we’ve been doing for the past few years. Before it was always my cousins with their kids and this year I actually had one of my own. Still crazy to think about sometimes. She had a good time, didn’t really enjoy the breeziness of the day, but loved shopping inside the building. I’m pretty sure she enjoys shopping period, surprise surprise if you know me at all!
Yesterday we had a play date with Lincoln Young and Arrington Mauhar and had a great time. Arrington was born 2 days before Torah. You would never guess that b/c Torah is about 3 pounds bigger than Arrington! It was crazy to be hanging out with your college friends and 3 babies that were ours! I guess we really are growing up. Not to mention Katie has 2 kids now! It was great seeing Arrington for the first time and just to hang out with Ash, Katie and Lincoln. Can’t wait for the next play date!
Another crazy thing, Jacob and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary yesterday. Some days it feels like the 3 years have flown by and others it feels like we’ve been married a lot longer (in a good way!). Since it was in the middle of the week, we just went to Bloomington and got some coffee (and had to buy formula!). Torah went along and we had a nice family outing. This weekend Torah’s grandma is watching her on Friday so we can go out for a nice dinner, can’t wait for that!
Enough babbling, here are some more pictues of the ever changing Torah!

This is a crazy picture to see, just b/c we all went to college together and now we have babies! Katie and Lincoln are in the middle (Lincoln was ready for a nap, poor little guy we messed up his nap time) Ashleigh and Arrington are on the right. We had our first play date on Monday.

She loves to lay on her changing table. Here she is laughing!

Doctor Appointment

Posted by jacobpaulbreeze on September 10, 2007

Today we had Torah’s first doctor appointment and it went very well. I was a little nervous, just b/c her feeding time was at the time of her appointment. Luckily enough, we arrived early and was able to fill her belly before the appointment. She did great at the doctor. She is now weighing in at 9lb 9oz and is 21.5 in. So, she gained about 5oz since she’s been home. Doctor said she is doing great and we don’t have to go back for another 6 weeks. I am dreading that appointment b/c she’ll be getting her shots then. So, we just won’t think about that.

After the appointment we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings for some lunch and she just slept the entire time. It was great to get out of the house and have some quality time together. We then decided to go see Austin Parker at Starbucks and visit August Griffin, our friend. Once again, Torah just slept the entire time. And I will say it is officially fall, b/c I had a pumpkin spiced latte. I highly recommend the drink, it really puts you in the mood for fall. We then moved on over to Target to update our registry. We have a shower in October that Deb’s friends are throwing for us. We had to switch all the diapers, b/c we found out second day in the hospital that Torah is allergic to Pampers. Which oddly enough, I was too at her age. Thank goodness though, she didn’t fall in my footsteps with her hair. I was bald until I was two, so thankfully that must have come from Jacob’s side.

So, the Breeze family had a big day today considering it was our first outing as a family.

2 weeks old and Church

Posted by jacobpaulbreeze on September 10, 2007

Most of the pictures below are from Friday, when Torah was 2 weeks old. We finally got some pictures of her w/ her eyes open!

She made her debut at church today and she loved it! Everyone was lovin on her and I got a break for awhile, which was wonderful :) Jacob has been sick most of the weekend, so he hasn’t been able to really hold her and be real close w/ her, which is killing him. This meant I got to pick up both shifts throughout the night and all shifts during the day, so by Sunday I was a little exhausted! Luckily, he is feeling much better and able to spend time w/ her. Torah had a very busy weekend and both of us are exhausted from all the traveling. On Saturday, we went to Atlanta and watched the parade and went to the Fall Festival to get a corn dog. She had a great time and was the only one who stayed dry, thanks to her travel system. It began to rain during the parade, but we stuck it out watched the entire parade. I couldn’t believe that the marching band or the fire trucks didn’t bother her. You could tell she recognized the loud noise, but she didn’t cry one bit. Which was great! We spent the rest of the day at Mamaw and Grandpa Fosters house and they loved on her the rest of the night. And then today, we went to church, then to the cookout afterwards. We then decided to walk around the mall for awhile. So, we’ve been pretty busy (at least for us it was busy!). Hope you enjoy the pictures!

We’re Home :)

Posted by jacobpaulbreeze on September 2, 2007

The Breeze family has now been home for 5 days and it has been absolutely wonderful. A little challenging, exhausting, but all worth it. Torah is doing great and adjusting to life at home w/ her brothers. We’ve have many visitors and have enjoyed spending time with everyone who has stopped by the house and the hospital.

My mom just left on Friday night and it was an emotional time for me. My hormones have been out of control these past few days. I just start crying at random times. I am not depressed or anything, it’s that I am just so over joyed to have Torah with us. My favorite time to spend with her is feeding her and changing her. She loves her changing table and just relaxes while she is on it. Bath time is also great too! I just love looking at her, her eyes and her expressions just make me want to cry sometimes. I am just so happy to be a mom. It was great having my mom here for 4 days, I’m not for sure what we would have done without her. Hence when she left, I was a crying mess. I just was nervous that I was going to do something wrong or mess something up, which didn’t happen at all.

Today has been a great day. It is the first day that Jacob and I have been home with Torah by ourselves, and we are loving it. Jacob’s mom came over in the morning and stayed with Torah while we went our for coffee. It was nice to have some time together, but it was a weird feeling to leave Torah, even though it was only for about 20 -3o min. Everyday Torah seems to amaze us and make us laugh. She has beautiful eyes and shows so much expression and she loves to stretch her long legs. I could go on and on forever about her, but I will save some things for another post. Here are some recent pics.
